Student’s Club Program
Film program (starts at 18.00 every Wednesday)
Each Wednesday there is a film program which varies each week with different topics, but mostly contains two main directions, such as
1. Educational program
will include
– feature art historical (biographical) films about artists, painters, composers, dancers, choreographers, philosophers, writers etc
– screen versions of world famous classical writers
– dance videos (filmed performances by world famous choreographers)
– documentary films (art documentaries, documentaries about artists, spiritual documentaries)
2. Entertaining program
will include
– art and feature movies
– programs of short films
– programs of video art
– programs of animation
– programs of art dance videos
– programs of music videos
– programs of student’s works
The film programs are organized by audiovisual students but anybody is welcome to suggest any programs or films to screen.
National days
Once a month there is a National day which is supposed to represent culture of one of the countries (or regions) North Karelia College has students from, such as Finland, Russia, Sweden, Germany, (Karelia)… The program will include national food to be cooked, one national movie to be screened (or program of short films and animation) and national music to be played or performed.
International days
A program is mixing features of different countries and cultures.
Music evenings
Days for spending time together playing and singing songs, listening to music or watching music videos.
Thematic evenings
Any themes are welcomed to develop the program. For example, such topics as Colors (Red, White, Blue), Numbers (8 ½, 4, 9) or any other.
Game evenings
Days for spending time together playing different games.
Celebrations
1st January Happy New Year Celebration
International Dance Day Celebration
Great Gala Competition Winner’s Celebration
14th February Saint Valentine’s Day Celebration
8th March International Women’s Day Celebration
1st April Fool’s Day Celebration
24th Decemb Christmas Celebration
Poetry evenings
Days to meet together to read and share national poetry in your own language.
Collage evenings
Days to meet and make paper collages together. There is also an option to develop collages into stories and to film an animation.
Quiet evenings
Listening to audio talks by dharma teachers
Open programs
Open space for things to happen. Any ideas are welcome.
If you like any of suggested ideas or have your own ideas feel free to organize any evening for students, but please announce the event at least one week before the actual event in the blog.
