Cafe open again!
It's been to much to do for people the lats week's but today, suterday the cafe is open again!! come and hang out in the sun! I keep it open as long as someone is coming and hanging out with me...

Michel Gondry night
It's my pleasure to inform you all that tomorrow on friday we will have an evening with the greatest Michel Gondry and waffles. Michel Gondry is a movie director and has made many music videos. So, friday evening we will be showing his music videos on the background.

Working in the cafe!
Everyone is welcome to sign up for making cofee, hanging out with nice people, cleaning up a bit, and being responsible and happy some Friday or Saturday!
Tell Aurora or Kaisa and you will get the key. If you have a theme, or there's something else you want people to know, tell us, or write to the cafes e-mail, and we will put it on the blog.
In the cafe there is a schedule with names of people working, and a list of names and phonenumbers.

Saturday 21/3
On Saturday evening you are welcome to take your knitting and best stories with you! Gita, Matilda and Aurora are going to knit and maybe read stories for each other and you are welcome to join us with books, knittings, ears, eyes or just a coffee. There are some needles and yarn in the cafe also.

Student’s Club Program
Film program (starts at 18.00 every Wednesday)
Each Wednesday there is a film program which varies each week with different topics, but mostly contains two main directions, such as
1. Educational program
will include
– feature art historical (biographical) films about artists, painters, composers, dancers, choreographers, philosophers, writers etc
– screen versions of world famous classical writers
– dance videos (filmed performances by world famous choreographers)
– documentary films (art documentaries, documentaries about artists, spiritual documentaries)
2. Entertaining program
will include
– art and feature movies
– programs of short films
– programs of video art
– programs of animation
– programs of art dance videos
– programs of music videos
– programs of student’s works
The film programs are organized by audiovisual students but anybody is welcome to suggest any programs or films to screen.
National days
Once a month there is a National day which is supposed to represent culture of one of the countries (or regions) North Karelia College has students from, such as Finland, Russia, Sweden, Germany, (Karelia)… The program will include national food to be cooked, one national movie to be screened (or program of short films and animation) and national music to be played or performed.
International days
A program is mixing features of different countries and cultures.
Music evenings
Days for spending time together playing and singing songs, listening to music or watching music videos.
Thematic evenings
Any themes are welcomed to develop the program. For example, such topics as Colors (Red, White, Blue), Numbers (8 ½, 4, 9) or any other.
Game evenings
Days for spending time together playing different games.
Celebrations
1st January Happy New Year Celebration
International Dance Day Celebration
Great Gala Competition Winner’s Celebration
14th February Saint Valentine’s Day Celebration
8th March International Women’s Day Celebration
1st April Fool’s Day Celebration
24th Decemb Christmas Celebration
Poetry evenings
Days to meet together to read and share national poetry in your own language.
Collage evenings
Days to meet and make paper collages together. There is also an option to develop collages into stories and to film an animation.
Quiet evenings
Listening to audio talks by dharma teachers

Open space for things to happen. Any ideas are welcome.
If you like any of suggested ideas or have your own ideas feel free to organize any evening for students, but please announce the event at least one week before the actual event in the blog.

What is this?! Mikä tämä on?
In Ammattiopisto Outokumpu, North Carelia College Outokumpu, the principle, the teachers and us students got the idea about a coffee house. We decided to make one.
Kahvihuoneilmiö - The coffee house effect is a club space, where we students can gather, watch movies, play music, drink good coffee and organise different evenings. We decided to make it to look like a café because here in Outokumpu we don't have one yet.
The idea is that it would be a place where to meet students from all the departments of Ammattiopisto.
It's run by us, the students, and anyone can come to help us there. If you want to help, write us: okustudentcafe@hotmail.com
The school pays the rent, but everything else we have got for free. People have donated things and school also. We work there as volunteers.
We are planning to have Kahvihuoneilmiö open every week for three evenings after school, two of them would have usually some kind of program, movies and such.
The Coffee House Effect is located in Syrjäkatu, a red house, on the other side of the street from the library, behind a big yellowish-white building. The correct address will be updated soon.
See you at the opening party!!
Pohjois-Karjalan Ammattiopisto Outokummun rehtori, opettajat ja oppilaat päättivät perustaa Outokumpuun kahvilan.
Kahvihuoneilmiö on opiskelijoiden oma kerhohuone, jossa on mahdollista viettää aikaa, katsoa elokuvia, tavata ihmisä, juoda hyvää kahvia ja järjestää erilaisia iltoja. Siitä on muodostunut kahvilan näköinen paikka, koska monet oppilaat kaipaavat kahvilaa.
Kahvilaa/kerhotilaa pitää yllä oppilaat vapaaehtoisesti, oppilaskunta on myös mukana auttamassa. Jos haluat tulla auttamaan, kirjoita meille (okustudentcafe@hotmail.com) tai tule juttelemaan avajaisissa. Kaikki huonekalut yms. on saatu lahjoituksina ja koulu maksaa vuokran.
Ajatuksena on, että Kahvihuoneilmiö olisi auki kolmena iltana viikossa kouluajan jälkeen, joista yhtenä tai kahtena iltana olisi jotain ohjelmaa. Elokuvaklubi järjestetään joka viikko.
Kahvihuoneilmiö on Syrjäkadulla, punaisessa tuvassa, kirjastoa vastapäätä kadun toisella puolella, vaaleankeltaisen talon takana sisäpihalla. Tarkka osoite päivitetään myöhemmin.
